I can not believe it is already the end of March. I am so sorry that it has been almost two months since I have posted. I have been very busy with being in a musical and playing on varsity lacrosse. But do not worry, I will make sure that I am posting once a week from now on. 🙂
It is officially spring time, and what is a better way to celebrate than to wear new spring clothes? I have gathered my favorite wearable trends from the runway and listed them below. I hope you find this useful and make sure to be on the look out for my spring mood board which will be posted by the end of the week.
Altuzarra, Charlotte Ronson, Rebecca Minkoff
Before you scoff and say “not for me,” hear me out. From amber and canary to saffron and marigold, trust that there is a shade of yellow for everyone. The trick is figuring out your skin’s undertone, then finding the hue that best complements it.
Cushnie et Ochs, Michael Kors, Rosie Assoulin
Diane von Furstenberg, Altuzarra, Oscar de la Renta
Black and White
The trend’s not groundbreaking, but black and white is everywhere. What makes this season’s take on the classic color combination interesting, though, are the various textures, patterns, and silhouettes.
DKNY, Public School, Thakoon
J. Crew, Tibi, Thakoon Addition
Blue and White
Adeam, Alice + Olivia, Herve Leger by Max Azria
Kimono-Style Trench Coats
Slouchy, lightweight trench coats—belted just so—were spotted all over the runways this season. We’re fans, and why wouldn’t we be? They’re a comfortable, stylish mix between a robe, a proper coat, and a kimono.
Tracy Reese, Thakoon, Tibi
Medium-Size Obi Belts
Consider it one of spring’s most flattering trends. Tie on an obi belt and knot it to the side for optimum waist-whittling benefits.
BCBG, Rebecca Taylor, Suno
Flats, Slides, and Sneakers
Thank the fashion gods, comfortable shoes are here to stay! So whether you’re a sneakerhead, appreciate minimal two-strap sandals, or love plain slides—there’s something cute and comfy out there for you.
Believe it or not, your shoulders have become the sexiest part of your body overnight! Show them off in these one-shoulder tops and dresses (a twist on spring 2014’s off-the-shoulder ones) that are perfect for date night.
Ralph Lauren , Jill Stuart, Tanya Taylor
Karen Walker, Rodebjer, Adam Selman
Tory Burch, Polo Ralph Lauren, Alexander Wang
Hit the army-surplus store now because you’re going to want all the necessary regalia come spring. Many designers took the literal route when it came to their creations, but you’re better off choosing streamlined military-style pieces that come in the olive-drab shade.
Marissa Webb, L.A.M.B., Marc Jacobs
The Fancy Apron
Ostwald Helgason, DKNY, Peter Som
Have a great day!
